He wakes up every day or in the middle of the night and wonders the same thing.

Did he know?

It's a simple question with a simple answer.

Probably not.

He probably didn't know that his brother loved him, at least as best he could. He probably didn't know that his brother would have killed whoever had to be if he had to.

The tombstone always says it though, making him feel a little better.

BELOVED SON, BROTHER, FRIEND

It should be enough, but it isn't. It would have if he knew for certain that his parents cared. At least his friends acted like it.

He didn't know.

It made all the difference. It made a difference every second of the day.

His girlfriend tries to make it stop, she does. She tries to make sure that he knows that she loves him, but it still isn't the same.

Dick knew.

It never works.

It's all pretty vague, but, yes, you can look at it as Dick being the one who... yeah. It was one of the situations that I had in my mind at least.

It's like I'm in trouble or something! I'm sorry.

Wow....

I am not sure I understand, because if you were saying that it was Dick who did all those things, then why would his friends still being caring that much, especially Logan, so is this like...ahh...I don't get it, itr is beautiful, but I don't get what happened....*confused*

It's really up to the reader to decide what happened. The main thing is that Cassidy couldn't stop wondering if Dick knew that he loved him. Everything else is up to the reader. That was just one idea that I had while I was writing it. That's why I put that there aren't any spoilers, it's extremely AU and up to you to decide how Dick died and why Cassidy would have killed someone if he had known and the part about the friends was just because he knew that his parents didn't care and at least his friends had been there at some time or another. It was just random writing.

OKay cool, I can get that, and yeah, it is great, i just got a bit confused, actually iuntil I got to the end I was kind of wondering if maybe Dick had found out what happened to Cssidy and killed the one who hurt, but got himself killed in the process somehow, which is a neat thought, and now i sort of want to write something like that, i mean, if it wouldn't e stepping on your toes ^-^ ...... ^-^" OKay, not sure that was the phrase I was looking for, anyway, back to my point, that story was great :)

I can see it working in that way. I would like to think that Dick would do that and I think it kind of fits into this.

Hee. Go ahead. I've been so uninspired lately so I'm happy that my last two pieces have made people want to write. I would, personally, love to read something like that.

so I'm not exactly sure I get this, but dammit I like it :)

Although quick question, is Dick dead? and this is him kind of looking over everyone and there reaction to hid death? kind of like he has switched places with Cassidy. or am I way off?

if this makes no sense please don't feel obliged to reply:)

any way back to my point, this was really cool, and nicely thought out, if not confusing.

Dick is dead, yes. This is Cassidy's POV, well third person POV. You can think of it as him switching places with Cassidy if you want, but, in my mind, it was just extremely random (just Dick being dead and Cassidy being alive) or Dick finding out about the little league stuff and trying to do something about it and being killed in the process.

No, it made sense. Glad you liked.
